| hello all,
If this is posted on my site, then I'm one step closer to figuring out how all this stuff works and making it a habit. If you're wandering, I took that picture of myself two summers ago. I was vacationing in New Port, RI where several millionaire families use to live before the turn of the 20th century and during the Jazz age. The home of the Vanderbilts is a mansion called The Breakers. They have a MASSIVE backyard that must span out about 100 yards plus they had this water fountain with several mythological characters. Seeing that I was in a silly mood, I gave my buddy here my shades and posed next to him. It is amazing how much money these people had. The mansions were destined to become rubble to be replaced by parking lots, strip malls and the like, but a historical society bought the mansions through an auction and opened them to the public. There are mansions that date as far back as the colonial era of this country! If you ever go, remeber to stop by the historical society visitor's center to buy tickets to the mansions. I bought tickets for the Gilded age, which were the mansions of millionaires before the turn of the 20th century. I went back twice in order to finish my tour of those mansions. Whoa, what a long message. My bad. I'll remeber to keep it shorter. Good luck on finals. |
